Will this give me step-by-step instructions on how to get my kids reading?
We do one better than just giving you instructions, we do the assessing, teaching and progressing monitoring for you. All you need to do is hit play and watch your kids thrive.
My child is neurodivergent. Will the ASPIRE Summer Reading Camp still work for them?
Absolutely. We follow an Orton-Gillingham approach, which is shown to be effective for all types of learners including those with dyslexia, ADHD, ASD or other brain-based differences. We also have broken lessons down into 5-10 minute mini-lessons so that kids who struggle with focus can be wildly successful.
Do I need to have to have any fancy tools or resources to make this work?
Nope! If you have a device with internet and something to write with and on, your kids can be very successful with this program! There are opportunities to add multisensory tools into the learning but we use items that are typically found around most homes such as a tray with salt, stuffed animals, pudding, or sand paper.
How much time does it take to start seeing results?
You are going to start seeing growth after the first lesson is complete. Your child will know a new concept and make concepts they already know even stronger. Some children will be completely caught up within the 3 months of camp and others will need more time to fill in their gaps, which is completely fine!
What if I have more than one child who could benefit from this camp?
Your whole family can join the ASPIRE Summer Reading Camp under one enrollment! So if you have multiple children, they can all go through it and work on the targeted skills they need!
My child is not super interested in learning how to read — will this work for me?
Yep! We work with your family closely to find what will motivate your child. We also include mini lessons on growth mindset, grit building, and how our brains learn to read so that they can understand the “why” and gain motivation and momentum.
I’m not sure how we’ll fit this into our busy schedulee — should I still enroll?
We totally understand that families are traveling, have events, and hopefully some beach time planned for the summer. This camp is going to be a lifesaver for you! Because you only need 10 minutes per learning time, and because you can access it anywhere with the internet, even the busiest of families can still participate!

Does this only work for early elementary-age kids, or would this work for my child who is in 4th grade (or higher)?
We have designed the ASPIRE Summer Reading Camp to work on foundational reading skills (phonological awareness, letters, and phonics), and some older children definitely still need support with these areas. We have heard that the feel of the lessons is a “primary” feeling, so some older kids are turned off by the vibe. If you’re concerned about that, reach out to us and we’ll send you some sample mini-lessons to try out with your child to see if they’re receptive to it!
How does the assessment part work?
We use this awesome tool called Videoask, where I give the assessment through a video that pauses after every question to let your child respond. You then click “correct” or “incorrect,” and it’ll move to the next question.
Laura and I get the results automatically, put together your family’s personalized plan, and get that to you within 48 hours of completing the assessment. That’ll tell us exactly which lessons we’ll use with your child.
